What is small group personal training?

Gym FAQs › Personal training

Quick answer

Small group personal training is a coached session where a personal trainer works with a small group of people at once, following a structured programme. You get personal attention on your technique and progress, with the energy of training alongside others, at a much lower price than one-to-one personal training.

How it differs from a regular class

Group classes often have larger numbers and everyone follows the same workout. In small group personal training the numbers are kept low, so the coach can watch everyone, correct technique and scale each exercise to your level and any injuries.

Who it suits

  • Beginners who want coaching without the cost of one-to-one sessions
  • People who enjoy training with others and like a bit of accountability
  • Anyone moving on from personal training who still wants a coach's eye
