Is 2 PT sessions a week enough?
Gym FAQs › Personal training
Yes, two personal training sessions a week is enough for most people to build strength, improve fitness and see real results. It meets the HSE recommendation of muscle-strengthening activity on at least two days a week. Adding some walking or a class on other days will speed up your progress.
Why two sessions works
Two sessions gives your muscles enough stimulus to adapt while leaving time to recover between workouts. It also gives your coach two chances a week to check your technique and adjust your programme, which keeps you progressing safely.
How to get more from them
- Stay active on your other days with walking, cycling or a group class
- Prioritise sleep and protein to help your body recover
- Follow any homework exercises your coach gives you
- Track your lifts and measurements so you can see progress
